Paul Hyman BIO
Paul Hyman, is a Wellness and Lifestyle consultant with over 25 years’ experience investigating and teaching people how to use mind/body approaches to wellness and brain stimulation supported by neuroscience research. He works internationally, with a focus on teaching professionals to adopt his techniques along with being a guest lecturer and keynote speaker. Paul was a therapist 10 years at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH). Interest in performance excel-ability began with his career of 15 years as a professional recording musician (trombone) for popular entertainers, TV and movie industry. Working 9 years with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, he was on faculty at Hong Kong University and Academy for the Performing Arts.
Paul created the first Brain Fitness Program for Older Adults across Canada, co-author of CAMH’s publication “Becoming Trauma Informed”, published research on ADD/ADHD and Addictions. Paul received CAMH’s (Donwood) Nath Nayar Award, for Outstanding Contribution and Service. Paul completed a post-graduate Wellness & Lifestyle program. He is a Certified YMCA Life- Skills Coach, Personality Dimensions® Facilitator, Certified Trager® Practitioner, Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, (NLP), Body-Centered Therapist, Touch For Health Instructor, Instructor of Edu-K & Brain Gym®, Bereavement Facilitator, Trauma Specialist and Instructor, Trainer of Prevention & Management of Aggressive Behaviour (PMAB), NADA certified acupuncturist, Specialist in Accelerated Learning and Certified in Clinical Hypnosis.
Paul integrates many unique modalities and techniques to succeed in a changing world. Mindfulness, Conscious Breathing Techniques and Reiki Master. His experiential style of teaching and growing collection of playful toys/teaching aids makes for a fun, one-of-a-kind memorable learning experience; an experience which promotes life-long wellness.
He is passionate about assisting clients moving forward and working/supporting communities, organizations, companies to meet training needs to be successful in building a better community especially during and Post-COVID pandemic. Paul has developed training for: Alzheimer Society, Acquired Brain Injury Association, Toronto Family Services, Toronto District School Board, Peel District School Board, Hincks-Dellcrest Centre’s Trauma Program, Interval House – Canada’s first Shelter for Women & Children of Domestic Violence, Princess Margaret Hospital and Grace Hospital – Palliative Care. City of Toronto, TESS – Toronto Employment & Social Services training 1,700 staff and management in Resiliency & Self-care. One program he feels as his mission is Indigenous Community Development in Northwestern Ontario and Northern Canada – TEAM – Together Everyone Accomplishes More.
